Ruffles, Ruffles Everywhere…

Assymetrical Ruffle Tee ($32.50 - J. Crew)

I’ve been eying some of J.Crew’s spring offerings and can’t help but notice the adorable ruffles they’ve added to many of their knit shirts. I like to keep my wardrobe simple – comfortable but elegant and end up wearing a lot of knits with cardigans, paired with skirts, jeans, or pants as the situation dictates. This is a great idea for adding some pizazz to wardrobe staples and dare I say it (you had to know this was coming), an easy DIY. You’ll need fabric for the ruffle and a shirt to enhance. These might even be one and the same if you have a large shirt you’d like to pare down and recycle the remnants as ruffles. This project wouldn’t even require a sewing machine and features the kind of free-form design I find creatively liberating. Take a gander…
